Here is an interview of Clark. That I found really interesting in the way that he explains how he worked on his last record “Iradelphic”. Which I think, brings his music on an other level. What is surprising aswell, is that Clark is really calm and generous, while his music can be supra violent and aggressive. Enjoy!
No need to talk about Kanye & Jay on this one. We all that tune so that’s it. What I’m for is to talk more about Romain Gavras. French director, son of a great french director, Costa Gavras, Romain Gavras is very famous here, not only for his latest music videos such as that one for Jay-Z and Kanye’s “No Church In The Wild”, or M.I.A with “Born Free”, but also and mostly because of his work with the french movie crew Kourtrajmé. With Kourtrajmé, they really braught a hardcore and raugh style of filming. That is why I am going to put you some of his first stuffs and other music videos may have seen or no untill that very last one “No Church In The Wild”. Enjoy!
F.Y.I: Most of his music videos where seemed as freely violent and where censored most of the time, which happened mostly with the “Stress” video.
“L.O.V.E” is the first track that we can hear from Onra’s new ep that will be released on Fool’s Gold. But first you are probably asking yourself “Who the hell is Onra?”. To make it nice an short, Onra is another french beatmaker that is known here in France for his beat tapes called “Chinoiseries” and “Chinoiseries Part.II”. “Chinoiseries”, meaning “Chinese Things” because, all of the samples he used on those two projects are taken from records of old school chinese soundtracks and traditional music that he got once there. And now knowing that he’s ging to be on Fool’s Gold is pretty awesome! That song is really showing that Onra has skills not only to make beats, but also to produce dancefloor tracks. No need chopsticks to enjoy that!
“Alone” is the name of french beatmaker Myth Syzer’s new video. Pretty smooth and slow tempo, this song is really cool if you want to chill, enjoy your girl/boy or even read. FYI, Mythe Syzer’s name comes from J Dilla’s song “Mythsysizer”. You can purchase the song or the album “Alone” here. Enjoy!
Hey everyone. It’s been a while now. As far as I started talking to you about french rap, I am going to talk to you about french beatmaking. To do so, I’ll start by introducing you to my favourite french beatmaker: DRIXXXE (pronounce “Drixxx-Eh”). Drixxxé is known here for he’s work with french rappers Dabaaz and BlackBoul. The three of them formed Triptik. What I like about his beats, as that among french beatmakers, he’s the one that really has it’s sound, which, few years from now was pretty rare out here in France. The thing is that for so long, french rap forgot about what was having super next level beats. And Drixxxé was the man who saved the day. Anyway, now, I’ll just put on some videos of songs he worked on. Enjoy!
